#24197: Answers that keep us rooted.

Faith is not a simple concept, even though it can be.

As a young man who has had to live through questions, there are a lot of things that don’t make sense when you look at it logically, but in staying on the path, many things continue to unravel. Even though I was born into a Christian home and saw many supernatural things growing up in terms of testimonies, 2020 was a defining year for me cos it was a year I had many questions, and I had to learn to find answers in God.

So, I understand when young, smart, and brilliant people have a thing or two to say about devotion.

This morning, I woke up to the frantic calls of a dear friend who had just gotten a news that her mom was unresponsive. And she started with, “Just Yesterday, he says he sees me,” talking about yester night’s service, where God’s love took over, and my Pastor spent a lot of time speaking about how Jesus is intentional about people who have gone through major things this year, and who are heavy with emotions.

I didn’t know what to say, I just stayed, listening and praying under my breath.

I have been praying for, and with her since morning, and I trust God to show up in a manner that is best and most needed for her at this point, but I cannot begin to understand what she is going through at the moment.

Like, I said one time on Mudia’s podcast, I am not a Christian today because I have all the answers, and don’t have questions about things that don’t make sense; but because first, I have seen God’s love firsthand (his care, peace, intentionality), and I have more answers than questions on this journey; and every day, I am closer to getting answers to the questions that I have.

On mornings like this, we just search deep for the answers that keep us rooted.

My waking thought this morning is that it is easy to be drawn into ruminating on the things you don't have, or feel like you are missing out on, than the things you have — and the possibilities that can come from your own journey. You can get so caught up comparing and wanting, that you are not living the life that can possibly create the very things you are wanting. It takes intentionality to build. And you will not build your own if you spend time worrying about why your own is not like...

I am still young in this business thing, but one thing is already clear: you don't treat everybody the same way. Not in business. Not in comms. Not in branding or marketing. If you don't understand your audience, you will create problems you won't immediately see. You can't send the same push notification to everybody. At a certain level, even sending the same email to everyone becomes lazy. People need to be grouped into behavioural pockets — based on how they think, what they value, and how...

I saw House of Dynamite on Netflix yesterday, and instead of just enjoying the movie, I was seeing the weight of responsibility, and sometimes what it means to be a leader. Although you people would have told me that the movie did not show whether the missile hit or not, now, I have to finish the story without a closure. 😫 I will firmly posit that leadership at any level means taking responsibility for the lives of other people; it’s just that the weight and consequences differ from level to...
